Atlas is an open-source, fully accessible AU and VST3 synthesizer for macOS and Windows. Built on Matt Tytel’s Vital, it keeps the original sound engine and expands it with more oscillator engines, filter types, effects, modular routing and modulation sources. Every parameter can be reached and changed from the keyboard, with full screen reader support: VoiceOver on macOS, and NVDA, JAWS or Narrator on Windows.
Features
- Eight oscillators, each running one of ten engines: wavetable, analog, sample, granular, spectral, noise, multi-sample (SFZ, Decent Sampler and SF2), Braids, the OpenWurli electric piano and the Open B3 organ
- Two voice filters in series or parallel, with Vital’s models plus wavetable, distortion, reverb, scream, ring modulation and sample and hold filters
- Over 35 effects across a main chain and three buses, with a routing matrix and latency compensation
- 12 LFOs with a curve editor you edit from the keyboard, 10 envelopes, 4 random generators, 16 macros, audio-rate modulation and two arpeggiators
- A preset browser that also shows the presets and banks shared on atlas.blindproducers.org, so you can download and share sounds without leaving the plugin
- A keyboard-first editor: every control has a name, Tab and the arrow keys move through labelled groups, and the synth’s own announcements go to your screen reader
